The Area Vice President Sales, Canada is a newly created role in the North America Sales organization, the purpose of which is to lead and mentor the Canada Sales teams, and drive high level engagement with Canadian Tier 1 Communications Service Providers. Massive change is occurring within the traditionally broadband access networks. Calix is driving that change.  This role will report into the VP, Sales and be based in Canada.

  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and career development coaching to Sales Team - Canada
  • Contribute as the sales leader for Canada tier 1 CSPs
  • Direct people management and strategic account management for Tier 1 Sales team
  • Reports to VP, Sales
  • Experience building and managing successful sales teams demonstrating growth in the target markets
  • Will represent and position both complex network hardware systems and cloud based software systems


  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in broadband sales with specific knowledge of fiber and copper access solutions along with Cloud based software solutions.
  • Strong knowledge base of broadband and analytics in both legacy network models and new SDN/NFV based service models.
  • Must have Senior Executive level relationships and proven success in working with Canadian Tier 1 Communications Service Providers (Including: Bell Canada, Rogers, Telus, Sasktel, Shaw, Videotron)
  • Exceptional track record of delivering complex solutions and services for Canadian Tier 1 Communications Service Providers looking to either enhance returns or reduce complexity and cost.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and public speaking skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple audiences and levels within both internal and external organizations
  • Demonstrated leadership experience building and managing teams covering major account, region, or national sales efforts
  • Proven leadership and management skills, including managing cross-cultural teams to achieve demanding goals
  • Understanding of the Global Cloud Services Market and can properly position and monetize solutions.
  • Will be required to work remotely in Ontario and travel up to 50 % of the time in Canada and some cross-border.
