This role will be responsible for OSP vendor management and quality audits for the deployment of Calix networks for a Tier 1 Telecommunication client.

Responsibilities

-Aid Sr. Mgr in vendor selection.

-Award work to contractors based on availability of resources.

-Oversight of performance through date management

-Oversight of quality through job audits

-Act as the Calix OSP Eng SME for other OSP Engineers, PMs, PGMs, etc to offer some basic knowledge and understanding for scope of work.

-Request POs for OSP Elements for Pro Svcs

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of OSP engineering experience for CenturyLink
  • Must demonstrate thorough understanding of Calix E-series and C-series product lines, or similar equipment
  • Required experience in outside plant, aerial, buried, underground and utility construction.
  • Strong working knowledge of many of the following CenturyLink systems is required:
    • Fireworks
    • BidMaster
    • WFMT
    • FORTE
    • NDTT
    • RTT
    • ACAD
    • JDS
    • OSP-FM
    • Resourceful disposition; able to work independently
    • Proficient with Microsoft Visio, Word and Excel
  • Exceptional ability to interact with CenturyLink supporting departments and functions to keep CenturyLink-dependent tasks progressing
  • Working knowledge of Ethernet, IP, FTTx, ATM, xDSL, SIP, and GR-303
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and perform under pressure, managing milestones and payments to vendors
  • Must negotiate timeframes for completion and meet critical deadlines
  • Experience with IPTV deployments on both copper and fiber facilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • BS/MS EE, CS, or equivalent with four years or more of OSP engineering support in telecom networks
  • Previous vendor management experience is desirable
