  • Plan, schedule, and manage the materials for delivering time-critical components to support mechanical new products schedule.
  • Work with suppliers to establish the appropriate short and long term agreements that will support time sensitive NPI projects with transition to production.
  • Clearly identify and communicate potential supply risks and provide mitigation options to appropriate team members.
  • Partner with suppliers to identify solutions to control inventory flow, minimize shortages.
  • Work fluidly in a highly cross-functional team environment involving manufacturing and product development teams, as well as supply chain specialists, manufacturing engineers, and logistics personnel.
  • Create, communicate and implement strategic mechanical commodity solutions that align with Calix corporate objectives.
  • Work proactively and cross functionally to assure design for supply chain objectives are achieved.
  • Recognize & implement opportunities to globally source/outsource or combine the supply chain where feasible.
  • Review and provide feedback on mechanical vendor performance standards and measurements
  • Provide strategic direction on how we can use what we have to maximize cost, quality, and delivery.

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Materials Management or related field required with 10 years of sourcing, supply chain and/or NPI Materials experience.

Excellent communication skills at all levels required, including proficiency with major software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with PLM/ERP systems required (Oracle EBS and Agile preferred).


Strong and effective English skills required, both spoken and written.


Demonstrated negotiation, supplier management and influencing skills.


Ability to take charge, confidence to interact with all levels, set objectives, drive results, be a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.


Strong interpersonal skills required for interfacing with both internal and external customers and suppliers.
