Calix is seeking an analyst, team player, and self-motivated problem solver to join the Supply Chain Operations team as Sr. Buyer/Planner.  The role will include responsibilities of procurement and materials supply and demand planning, such as executing and managing POs per MRP direction, working and communicating with suppliers to set expectations, forecasting and inventory management for materials through life cycle, engaging with Supply Chain partners and the planning group to ensure materials on time delivery and optimal inventory level. The role will also include participation in process and system improvements.  Long-term development roadmap of this position may further expand into a Supply Chain Analyst.


  • Plans, schedules and monitors the movement of materials through the production cycle to determine and execute required materials purchases.
  • Manage supply and demand requirements to support NPI materials
  • Obtains materials using production and engineering schedules to maintain inventory at planned levels
  • Lead applicable processes to manage inventory and transitions of materials through life cycle
  • Perform supply-demand and cost analyses as required to help aid decision making.
  • Participate in processes improvement and systems integration projects as the company is moving to Oracle Cloud platform
  • Support material requirements and ensure material availability for new product development, introductions, launches and other R&D projects as needed
  • Prepare and review purchasing requisitions & POs
  • Proactively communicate with suppliers to facilitate on-time arrival of material
  • Facilitate action according to MRP messages to meet supply challenges


  • At least 5 year of experience in procurement and planning.
  • Working knowledge and experience in MRP replenishment system and MS Office 
  • Oracle EBS and iSupplier experience a plus.
  • Previous participation in systems integration a plus.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, knowledge of supply-demand planning and project management desired. 
  • Must be a results-oriented with strong problem solving skills and have the ability to perform multiple tasks with a strong attention to detail.
  • Must adhere to deadlines in changing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and organization ability -- take charge, confidence to interact with all levels, drive results, be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work cross-functionally inside and outside the company.
