This is a newly created role in the North America Sales organization, the purpose of which is to lead and mentor the Sales Engineer (SE) teams, and provide high level field support on strategic customer engagements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and career development coaching to a team of Sales Engineers;
  • Contribute as the technical lead for regional sales leadership teams;
  • Lead technical training and develop programs/processes that can be leveraged company-wide;
  • Aggregate technical product information from customers into Calix product definition and field marketing teams (i.e. influencing and communicating key customer and product requirements);
  • Direct people management responsibility for field SE’s;
  • Present on Calix and industry topic at both public events and customer briefings

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in telecommunications with specific knowledge of Telco Edge and Access networking solutions
  • Strong knowledge base of data (IP) services. Preferred knowledge of SDN and NFV.

  • Strong interpersonal, written and public speaking skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple audiences and levels within both internal and external organizations
  • Demonstrated leadership experience working with teams covering major account, region, or national sales efforts
  • Bachelor degree in Engineering or related discipline

 

Location

  • Major hub city in the western half of the US. Desired locations are Dallas, Denver, Seattle, Phoenix and San Francisco.
