This Senior Sales Engineer will be focused on providing world class pre-sales customer engagement, influencing our present and future customers and offering world class technical sales support for Calix’s growing list of large telecommunications operators across the globe.
This position is responsible for pre-sales technical engagement with the customer, VAR's, product and technical presentations, including network design. This will require strong capabilities to interact and influence senior technical staff and management within Calix’s telecommunications operator customers. This role also involves demonstration of Calix’s product capabilities, and assistance with lab and field trials. Candidate should have a strong technical background and knowledge of telecommunications Voice, Data, and Video networking. Strong interpersonal skills, proven track record of synthesizing and interpreting complex issues into solutions and ability to effectively work with multiple audiences and levels across organizations are required.
Up to 80% approximate domestic travel
7+ years’ experience in telecommunications
Experience partnering with teams cross functionally with in depth product knowledge for continuous improvement on education of products and demos
Excellent and effective presentation, written communication and public speaking skills are required
Deep understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 Access/Edge networking technologies
Experience with Fiber and Copper based Access systems
Working knowledge of Subscriber Management, BRAS, or BNG systems
Expertise with Software Defined Networking (SDN) and industry open networking efforts
